Fleeting Moments..

I just wonder...how days look both long & short simultaneously... Each day looks long enough to live through and slowly flowing and stretching into another, while on its invisible transition they loose their identity and become yesterday & tomorrow...and in between life weaves its unpredictability....isn't it intriguing...?

A Thrilling Moment...

Next thrilling announcement! smile emoticon By Dr Amapt Koshy the founder of Rejected Stuff Group at Face Book

Shruti Goswami and Ananya Chatterjee are two of our sponsors for the Nightmare Poetry competition. This lovely poetry book Another Soliloquy written by both of them together which I have reviewed has been dispatched to Maaya Dev for her prize winning entry in the competition and will reach her in the next three to five days, having been sent by Shruti.
The book can be bought here: http://pothi.com/…/ananya-chatterjee-shruti-goswami-another…

I got the book and read. It is an amazing collection by both brilliant poets and added to my poetry collection.

Thank you so much RS team for featuring every poet who is part of this anthology. This joy would be incomplete unless I share this with all my friends and relatives.. ..heart emoticon With loving regards....Yours Maayasmile emoticon

66. Meet our contributor Maya Dev
Maaya in her own words
Maaya - the Upanishad's gem or what you live wrapped in the cocoons of illusion to demystify the intricacies between life and death. Thumb nailing myself of my ephemeral speck in the vast sea of universe and in the sea of poetic world here is what briefly speaks of me though I wish for my poems to speak of me.
I am an Economics graduate from Kerala. Life on this beautiful earth gifted me vast experiences. Extremity, unpredictability, complexity and the beauty of life makes me ponder and wonder and I try to mirror it through poems as it is a way of exploring life and its various moods and shades. Expression through poems is very refreshing. I have experienced poetry as a Xanax and as highly cathartic too. I feel poetry is a viaduct between everything in micro and macro levels. I am a lover of nature-it excites and inspires me. The Persian mystic poet Rumi is my favourite poet. Besides poetry, I enjoy doing creative things like making greeting cards, glass paintings and other home decoration stuff. Other pastimes include reading, writing, pencil sketching and teaching poor students who can’t afford tuition fees.
Lately I have recognised my writing spark and I am glad now I am moving with an aim to grow as a poet. Some of my dalliance as on this pristine journey as literary embellishments are fragmented in few anthologies like Anthesis, Indus Valley, Eternal, Change, Forever and Wings. I have been awarded ‘The Faith-Centred poet of 2014 (Highly commended ) in the ICOP: ROLL OF HONOUR, the Bi-Monthly Critics award for Nov/Dec, Poem of the month (August), 2015, ICOP Monthly Critics for February. at Destiny Poets UK ( An International Community Of Poets). Recently I was fortunate enough to become a winner of a fun poetry competition “NIGHTMARE” conducted by RS group.
‘Rejection is the new Acceptance’ the mantra of RS and the group proves it beautifully. Here is a poem inspired by the same theme.
Few More Rejections...!!
On the eternity of time a writer lives enlivened moments.
He lives alone listening to the chimes of his own ode.
Daily he carves a pet statuette out of his poetic strokes
So one day he can swirl in euphoric ecstasy as Rumi.
The short lived joy of the writer is obvious
as his embraced wish flames into rejected ash.
Wherever the shadows of unfair rejection ensue
the moisture of pain dehydrates on myriad submissions.
Destined destiny of a writer flutters as unrequited dreams
When rejections let him live in a demised smoke of life.
Yet he waits for few more rejections on every submission
which he shall surpass until he embraces his due acceptance.
It is a great pleasure to be featured at such a prestigious platform sharing space with many eminent, budding and young poets / writers. A very warm thanks from the deep core of my heart to RS team, fellow poets, friends and in fact to every living or nonliving thing for conspiring to shape, mould and chisel me into more of being human and the river of my poetry to see more of springs till it meets some gigantic sea .on the way of acquiescence and enlightenment. I pray sincerely to the mother of universe with the famous Sanskrit verse " तमसो मॅा ज्योतिर गमय “ ( Lead me from darkness to light.). Once again wishing one and all the very best.
Team RS wishes this brave lady who has overcome many obstacles in her life with fortitude and has grown as a writer on the strength of her experiences and by stepping on her adversities a very bright future.
Proud of you Maya Dev!

A Poet's Petition !

Whole being is sprouted
with foliage of unwritten verses.

In eloquence the vibration of the recitation is heard.
Impregnated passion of the poet pursue
for a benign aesthetic poetic indulgence.
A poet is forlorn and weighed down by insatiable urge
when unfinished poems trembling on the finger tips.
A poet is euphoric and randomly writes
as if doped the silhouette of classics
to conquer hearts by indelible imprints.

On full moon nights often he inhales the mist of moon
and listens to the whispers of stars and universe.
As a drunkard he gulps the ecstasy of ocean
and sleep serenely on the canopy of sky in aloof.
But a hidden heralded purpose flame
his instinctive longing which is more than
just to saturate mere literary thirst.
The embedded vow of a poet refuses to succumb
Until, he signs his petition with his soulful blood.
For his blessed pen is a tool to voice and to escalate
the quandary of humanity by resigning
the reigning discrimination and injustice.
For he is capable of assimilating the vintage of virtues.
He is bestowed with sensitivity to gasp what his senses grasp
so never miss the unseen woes that drips as pearls of tears.
His ink never dries out of worshiping humanity and justice,
nor he is satisfied of admiring beauty, love, joy and peace.
For he is not only a poet but a destined warrior who fights
the tyranny of terrorism and razor casteism and racism with pen.
The soul of a poet is stirred whenever a woman’s respect is robbed
so his poetic prowess tries for a paradigm shift to regain her pride.

Before he wraps in his holy wrath
Before any hand tears his loyal petition
He assures to write and write until the judgement day comes.
It is a poet’s petition he meditated upon every moment.

What If ..!

What if?
If a moment’s carelessness cause your heart bleed
Would you call me a heartless..?

What if?
If my smile flashes before tears rolled down
Would you think I am the happiest..?

What if?
If I keep silence to restore the peace
Would you question my integrity..?

What if?
If I never voice to reciprocate the feelings
Would you think I am mute..?

What if?
If I prefer not to tell the bitter truth
Would you call me a coward..?

What if?
If I never get shattered with the unbearable
Would you reckon if I am an alien..?

What if?
If my dreams started to desert me
Would you dare to rewrite my destiny..?

What if?
If my own shadow escapes me a fine morning
Would you become my shadow to walk with me..?

What if?
If I cease to exist one fine day
Would you dare to rewind the time..?

What if?
If when whole world forgets me suddenly
Would you become my memoir and live once again..?

Memoir Of A Mirror .!

I,mirror hold a memoir on the diaphanous surface. The quill of my soul scribbles the cryptic encrypted notes. The enclosed myriad secrets flutter, but it never reflects on the gossamer skin. The nuance of emotion is glum on its fragility. Though it never spills the quintessence fearing it may blur the mirror blocking the vision of entities.

My honesty and clarity, the virtues invite your blind faith on me. I venerate your penchant for me for which I gift a glimpse of you. As a sculpture’s brilliance I present the pristine carving of your physical self! Though the truth is not what you see or perceive but what my humble glassy skin show you. This awareness pricks me as a curse in recluse.

I have surrendered myself. I acquiesce to be wholly holy to escape the labyrinth of illusion remain a desire as I am exposed to the truth that I am not required for anyone to see their inner self or the transparent beauty they behold in utter divinity. So what I reflect you is not YOU but ME as you. So I weep when I see you admire your transience the mere illusion of the beauty of your mortal flesh. The true grace and the glow of your eternal soul don’t reflect through my gossamer as your eyes are blind with earthy vision and prevent to see the real charisma that needs inner vision but not mirror.

Still, I relish the silent monologues, your absent mind let go off freely in front of my existentially absent presence. In spite of I secretly seek thy earnest attention to share my feeble melancholy. Rather your images vanish as you leave me forgetting even to acknowledge my silly deed. I am bound to remain as a memoir and the secret admiration and desperation of yours haunt me that swirl as guilty and produce tears that vaporise before anyone notice it. I am destined to be just a medium to introduce your physical self and any sort of lingering that is not in my help won’t serve me or others.

What you see at times is deceptive!

Maaya - An Illusion !

Maaya - The Upanishad's gem or what you live wrapped in the cocoons of illusion to demystify the intricacies between life and death. This whole world is MAYA, a confusion. You cannot decide, you cannot be decisive about it. It is always escaping you, always changing, turning into something else. It is fantasy, a dream like thing...

Ability Beyond Disability...!

Revolving of earth on its axis
a way of perfecting on the griddle of seasons.
Yet around the world imperfection snips
like sudden protrude of mushrooms.

Life is scattered and broken
as the refracting rays of prism.
The heralded eve of normalcy
shuts dreamy doors caustically.

Scar is persistent so tears are frozen.
Strained words are drying on the tip of lips.
Chimes of song demised in the dense valley
and track is lost in the darkness of night.

In its volatile firth,
‘Able is labelled as disabled’.
Though the destined journey can’t be impede
when ability beyond disability reigns.

Free is thy soul, free is thy will.
In the cocoon of the swirls of time
they resist assimilating with the destiny
to dilute the mist of mystery and mirage of illusion.

As a phoenix risen from hopeless life
they sail through invisible deific wings
by winning infinite impossibilities of life
to head towards the trajectory of renaissance.

How Silly.....!

Silly, such a silly word!
Yes it sounds silly too
I write silly, often I feel
Perhaps few agree or few may not
Who cares such silly thoughts?

Yes I write because I love to
Not for anyone but for me
Not even to prove writing prowess
But to be with those moments
that converse with me naively.

At times I let myself be silly
I let my senses free so free to capture
Whatever comes in its vicinity?
I feel some flavour of invitation
comes from my creative realm.

Yes, I am witnessing some flirting
between imagery and words.
A unique blending and unfolding
A kind of fusion and confusion
It was invisibly visible, how strange!

Clouds are lashing as waves
Ocean is smiling on the sky.
Every flower holding an Eden
Alps and Himalaya at Ganges shore
Upon seeing all, I am at awe, How silly!

And told myself don’t be so silly !

On Christmas Eve...!

John and Lisa living in different cities separately
as to meet their ends,  as life demanded strictly.
Lisa’s each morning starts with prayer and utter hope
Despite destiny devastated all dreams without scope
But her blind faith whisper always..‘Jesus is There’!

John a narcissist and workaholic turned agnostic suddenly
when their only daughter Rose became infirm terminally
Since then he never visited church or attended any mass
As if he had isolated himself from all kind of worldly bass
But Lisa meditated upon her blind faith..’Jesus is There’!

But today John seemed as if surpassed the past wounds
He opened his door of life to let in the light of joy and sounds
John and Lisa is out in the bustling streets adorned with lights
Even in winter the atmosphere is filled with warmth of delight.
After a decade John’s enthusiasm clasped in spangled high
Red balloons soaring high as a silhouette wiping tears of sky
At times he dances upon carols singing jingle bell, jingle bell
Lisa midst of all these merry lost herself in the monologues cell

Apparently zillion queries bursting inside as fire crackers
Was she experiencing an incredible dream of her life?
Or was her blind faith magically unwrapped as reality?
Or was the holy bible emanates its essence as an elixir?
She was beautifully confused yet thanking all the while
Few joys of tears rolled down her cheeks radiating her smile
She knew she lived a thousand lives in those moments.

Overwhelmed Lisa looked up the sky and kissed the stars
At once, her glimpse caught a heavenly shooting star
She recognised, it was the Santa Clause’s reindeer!
Unbelievably she blinked her eyes few times in awe
as if she got all the answers in the form of a Pandora box
A priceless gift for her from Santa Claus ‘On Christmas Eve’..
Lisa whispered silently holding hands of John.. ‘ Jesus is there’!

Luncheon With God..!

An archived ecstasy
Of momentous rendezvous
divulging as magnum opus
on the dais of galaxy.
A buoyant promise
with all flamboyance
spinning as ecstasy
around sun moon and stars.

The lingering indulgence
glorifying the witnessing
ceasing all humane illusion
of death, birth, dusk and dawn.
The obsolete scriptures are rewriting
and manifesting with inscription
wrapped with astral wisdom infused
On the rendezvous momentum of moment

The bifurcation of God and man
liquefy in the luncheon of the dessert..!

You Are..!

You are the fuel of life
many are deprived of
to drive life ahead to live
When hope sucks out
of life’s coarse surface.

You are the oxygen of life
When heaps of problems
suffocate to breathlessness.
You become the solution
before problems ruin fully.

You are the very spark
that flame the desire
And remain as burning fire
until one win and acknowledge
that nothing can defeat forever.

You are the sun, rise as dawn
when the night looks eternal
and the darkness scare deeply.
You are the sole divine light
that acts as a guiding star.

You are a unique pen
many thrive to have
to rewrite their destiny
when dreams get orphaned
and life challenge as mock.

Your are the fire of life
that everyone have inside
but it never gets lit easily
unless one is starved fully
and the hunger eats you wholly.

You are the gift of life
You are the vision of life
You are the wisdom of life
You are the substance of life
You are the very energy of life
 You are known as INSPIRATION!

Alas the paradoxy we search 'inspiration'
all where the irony it lies within is still to be grasped...!!

A Beautiful Journey

I landed on the mars in search of my beloved
I was spellbound to see scattered rubies around.

I dived into the red sea as a mermaid
and come up onto the shore disappointed.
Alien was thy ambiance and beloved was missing.
Suddenly my heart stopped beating.
I felt the strangeness was shrugging me off.
The desperation to escape yearn me to fly

I float like a feather through the passing clouds.
I saw the greener earth below
Spread as an embellished emerald carpet.
The emitting petrichor embraced me.
At north stand tall, Himalaya the host
Waiting with a pearl garland of Ganga for me
For, I was an angel of earth who was lost.

The dream union of both succumbed
to the ballads of Shakespeare.
When the mystic verses of Tagore
inhaled the secret as breath.
I belonged to Venus not to Earth!

Gloomy I continue the sojourn.
As a hobo I was roaming whole universe
in search of my beloved for a union.
Since ages I was left to live
with only one season, Untired Wait.
                                              My desperation shed as tears
and frosted on the layers of eternity
to get melt in the warmth of my beloved.
As I knew the universe would conspire
to make this union of Mars & Venus some day.
So I wait for the golden moment impatiently.

Suddenly alarm rang and my eyes opened.
The reality unfolded and I was on bed.
The ride was not real but was a gift
from my dream to the dream world.
I sighed forlornly and a reminder tickled me.
Dreams are always dreams!
 I just said and smiled.
Breeze, the messenger whispered to me
It’s the most beautiful smile ever seen
And I smiled....
