SHIMMERING CHIMES by Maaya Dev

-a chain of gems worth to be read- alur sudhakar

‘Shimmering Chimes’ as rightly named to this beautiful garland of poems by Maaya Dev is very apt, because, poetry always comes like a flash and it lingers in our minds and thoughts as mild chime. Maaya Dev has brought out her poetic abilities vividly in this collection and leaves us amidst clouds of thoughts to be reeling round the sky.

Starting with submission to ‘Hare Krishna’, she says worship for you is in my robe; I love and wear the robe of worship with humility. What a way to submit to him?

In our life each moment is lightening and she took the Sun and Moon as ‘beacons of enlightenment’ and her feelings are subtly brought out in this poem.

‘A living Enigma’ is a tribute to every woman. Maaya tried to unveil her efforts in each stage of life, but still a woman remains to be an enigma as ever.

‘Birth of poem’ also undergoes all the labour pains like any mother before giving birth to child; a poet invariably undergoes poetic pains before birth of a poem. ‘My heart sang, my soul danced, when my fingers merged the flow of unsaid words to the obvious’. Maaya leaves everyone in ecstasy for long time.

This life is a sojourn of ‘Awakening’. Only those who awaken have lived the life. Soul rejoices the awakening said Maaya.

All of us have blank diaries in our mind. We never want to write or share some things with anybody nor put them in black and white. That conflict is beautifully brought out by Maya like fragrance that spreads from a flower.

At times minds become blank like a desert. But there also germinates a ‘desert rose’. No necessity to get despair in odd times, it is an indirect lesson to be hopeful.

I can’t think of any other as ‘Divine Silhouette’ than Maaya Dev. She herself deserves that and she is poetry of poet, who reins our hearts forever.

A live example to live a life of phoenix is Maaya dev. She has made us disabled. She has touched our hearts and that wetness of love never dries out from our hearts. ‘Free is thy soul and free is your will’ in your own terms Maya Dev ji, a humble salutation to you.

‘Confession of a leaf’ – a beautiful replica of our way of love to life. The stubborn red leaf that has to dissolve with earth tries to jump out and escape by the breeze and finally succumbs to earth and gets recycled. None of us can escape this recycle of birth and death, a beautiful poetic witness by Maaya
Rejections do bother but I feel they should be always be set aside, because a poets poetry doesn’t depend any body’s acceptance or rejection. However it is a concern that lingers in the mind of a poet, which needs to be overlooked.

Anybody who looks at ‘Autumn Moon’ gets a glimpse of romance in their lives because; moon and romance always go together. Beautifully touching the heart by the romance in the realm of autumn moon is brought out lucidly by Maaya Dev.

Life has flames of past, it has all fragments in the present, but time always moves swiftly irrespective of past or present, even, before we place everything in order. Life needs to be taken in its stride, a beautiful depiction by Maaya Dev.

Nobody is left aloof by love. No recess form in the smile of love. Love is the spice of life. Nice emotions by Maaya Dev on love.

This life is not always colourful. It has its own dark days which nobody wants to remember and they want to escape from that ebony. A nice craves of the heart.

Who likes to be away from dancing in life? We all dance to the tune of life. Every ray of sun, every branch of a tree and every stem of plant with flower dances with glee when breeze flows. A touching presentation by Maaya Dev on the ‘Ballet of Danseuse’.

A cry of red rose for having lost its parental place and now decorating the vase in adapted place like a bride from parents to in-laws place.

‘Symphonies of Soliloquy’ sweep us along with the flow of ocean of love bringing all the ‘mist of mysteries’ of life and remembering the walks of the past, touching the unrealistic glimpses of the incidents of life, bringing the ‘valentine’ to the fore, with scattered verses of the heart and making the transparent beauty of the thoughts to come to the fore and place before all of us in a poetic way is the gist of efforts of Maaya Dev.

Touched by the contemporary status of the country in ‘plight of mother India’ with blazing pain of love, Maaya has rightly said ‘she writes her inner feeling despite them looking silly’. In fact, she has ‘pearls of tears’ in her heart. She is an ‘oasis’ in these days when reading books and poetry is becoming rare.
She often has ‘rendezvous with nature’, in these uncertain days moves on with her poetry with her ‘Life’s quest’, silently submitting with her own beautiful language.

She also becomes saintly speaking about ‘holy bath’, ‘last call’, ‘Praying to Lord Krishna’ in realization of this transient life and the cosmic play of life wherein she also has a role and takes ‘bliss in God’s chant’ and gives a ‘wakeup call’ to each one of us.

The ending poems takes us to spiritual world and to submission to God, with ‘seeking Master to accept her’, with a divine transformation, ‘thanking the ocean’ for inspiring, taking those ‘reminiscences’ of the past and in despair finding that it is a fight for nothing, thanking for the ‘beautiful journey’ and wondering the ‘transition of life’, calling life as a symbol of transition, and praised the woods, the ‘humdrum of green valley’ in her sojourn.

In Maaya’s thoughts there is a concern for every life from its cell stage to embryo stage and later on in the different roles that life takes us to live, beautifully termed as ‘Wombs dooms day’, with her ‘world of words’.

Let Maaya little poems also ‘twinkle like stars’ and let her ‘unwritten poems’ also be written and come to light. For some words are mere words. But for Maaya they are unborn poems likely to come out any time.

Let her ‘luncheon with God’ be very palatable, and her ‘aura and avalanche’ of thoughts build a strong fort in her mind, let them undergo positive ‘metamorphosis’ to capture the current thoughts let her make a relevant and contemporary poet, giving more ‘hey moments’ and make her strong both mentally and physically despite everything being ‘transient’.

Let her go ‘Beyond’ everything that she wants to reach in her life, Let her go beyond the far as she aims to go. Let her ‘poetic glance’ multiply its horizon and surpassing every obstacle in her way during her travel. Let no what’s or ‘if’s’ bother her in her life and let her remain as ‘Beloved Soul’ of every reader.
