Chetan Bhagat’s ‘- 2
State’ is a spot on book with a light story line. He excellently put in fine
details specially the cultures of 2 different states of India, that’s Punjabis
& Tamilians. Though it is roughly his story, but it is a perfect replica of
the complexities of typical Indians attitude towards caste and creed when it
comes to marriage. The story is the journey of 2 lovers Krissh & Ananya who
met at IIM Ahmedabad and fall in love with each other midst of their course and
their desperation to marry each other with their families consent and
blessings. It describes all the hurdles they had to face to make it happen
because of the indifferences in their upbringing and background. The story is full of dramas, wits and fun
filled events narrated in amusing manner. Chetan Bhagat being known for his
simple style of writing beautiful stuffs made this book a mass appeal. It is a quick and interesting one time read
for those who wants to escape boredom with lots of entertainment. But those who
are into serious reading and looking for heavy and dense stuffs would be
disappointed greatly.
