By the riverside piedra I sat down and cried- by Paulo Coelho

I love philosophy and Paulo’s books have high valued philosophies crafted with great interesting story lines. This is a spiritually uplifting beautiful love story with memorable quotes and offers a lot insight about living life, finding love and following your purpose. If you were torn between love and your beliefs, which one will you choose? And if you could only choose one, can you live life without the other? “Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worst kind of suffering.” is probably the best quote I came across in this book. This book tells us that all feelings are to be explored, to feel pleasure and pain. The book teaches you about the importance of hope, forgiveness, love, mysteries of life, magic moments hidden in our day to day life.  There is a general misconception that love & marriage is a hindrance for the spiritual progress but real soul mates grow and help each other to grow in spiritual life and this story highlights that. Paulo have an inclination towards Christianity and in this book many places was sounding bit preachy that followers of other religions may find it annoying.
Here goes the book for all the readers..Happy Reading:)

Nothing Lasts Forever By Sydney Sheldon

One of the best novels of Sydney Sheldon, a Story based on 3 lady doctors who are the protagonists. It is mesmerizingly engaging with the twists and turns that made it a mystery thriller that makes reader turn pages one after one with a steady interest. Sheldon has technically researched and spontaneously narrated each incident specially the hospital atmosphere is described aptly. He has high lighted the capacity of the doctor to smile midst of the high pressure job they carry in their services. The characters are structured beautifully; he has given classy touch to each. The story has its share of love hate friendship that exists in the real world. It shows the human side of doctors, unlike common belief that they are God. Often they too are torn apart by the very emotions, tribulations and s6uffering like all other normal people.  It handled well some sensitive subjects like euthanasia and the value of hippocratic oath. Above all the title ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ reminds us the great lesson of life. In life neither good nor bad things lasts forever which made one of the favourite personal punch line since I read this book.

Iris....flower

'Iris' is the Greek goddess for the Messenger of Love, her sacred flower is considered the symbol of communication and messages.Greek men would often plant an iris on the graves of their beloved women as a tribute to the goddess Iris, whose duty it was to take the souls of women to the Elysian fields.

Understand Doubt...!

Doubt is always about something that is good. Someone tells you ‘I love you’, you ask them ‘Really?’, and they say ‘I hate you’, you never ask ‘Really?’ So, a doubt is always about something good. You doubt your abilities; you never doubt your weaknesses. You doubt happiness, you never doubt misery. Isn’t it? Nobody doubts their depression. ‘But well, I’m not sure if I’m happy or not, well I'm not sure'. So when you understand that the doubt is always about something that’s positive, your mind shifts to a level, a different level altogether.

I saw me in You !

Every time
I meditate upon you
I feel a divine magical wand
resurface from no where
and purify from within.
There I see
a lucid reflection
smiling at me
from inner mirror
I saw You !
I saw me!
I saw me in You!

‘The Prodigal Daughter’ by Jeffrey Archer

Jaffrey unfold the life of Florentyna Rosnovski, the daughter of a Polish immigrant who builds his American dream. Florentyna is a strong  and beautiful woman who is  born in a rich family and raised with golden spoon. She had all the supporting system in her life to chase her dream like a wealthy father, a supporting husband who stood with her in all odds. In spite of all these she faced lots of hard time initially and ultimately to rise like a phoenix from ashes. The story is all about how Florentyna becomes president of America.  The story is little lengthy though author maintains its flow and all characters alive through out. The starting of story was splendid and picked up with good pace but in between lost its sheen so all the details around the presidential election was slightly dragging and also the obvious ending of the story make the reader less excited. But Jaffrey made the story inspiring for readers as it clears proves with sheer dedication and hard work one can achieve the dream how much difficult it may look

‘2 States’ by Chetan Bhagat

Chetan Bhagat’s ‘- 2 State’ is a spot on book with a light story line. He excellently put in fine details specially the cultures of 2 different states of India, that’s Punjabis & Tamilians. Though it is roughly his story, but it is a perfect replica of the complexities of typical Indians attitude towards caste and creed when it comes to marriage. The story is the journey of 2 lovers Krissh & Ananya who met at IIM Ahmedabad and fall in love with each other midst of their course and their desperation to marry each other with their families consent and blessings. It describes all the hurdles they had to face to make it happen because of the indifferences in their upbringing and background.  The story is full of dramas, wits and fun filled events narrated in amusing manner. Chetan Bhagat being known for his simple style of writing beautiful stuffs made this book a mass appeal.  It is a quick and interesting one time read for those who wants to escape boredom with lots of entertainment. But those who are into serious reading and looking for heavy and dense stuffs would be disappointed greatly.

Here goes the link for all the esteemed readers..enjoy reading:)

‘Men Are From Mars & Women Are From Venus’ By John Grey

The book is all about the innate difference of men & women. To emphasis this fundamental difference the author has deliberately put the title in such a manner – Men are from Mars & Women are from Venus though both are from same planet earth. In fact they are biologically and emotionally wired differently thus giving complex characteristics towards each other. This leaves a vacuum in relationships especially in marriages where understanding towards each other is the key.  Lack of understanding is one of the main reasons for marriage failures. John Grey addressed the subject with convincing solutions. He explained well how usually a woman/man thinks and behave in general situation. In short it gives an idea woman usually think in a subjective manner where as men in an objective manner. It helps to understand opposite sex better and thus can have smooth relationships with each other. Irrespective of all these many may find this book to be stereotyped/ biased and written solely from a male perspective hence will have share of disagreement. Over all an interesting read as many aspects theories given in this book are unknown to the many readers

The Da Vinci Code By Dan Brown

The Da Vinci Code By Dan Brown

The Da Vinci Code is a powerful mystery fiction filled with lots of historical facts. Dan brown made this novel sound extremely convincing and inevitably deluded you from what's real and what's fictional. This book invited lots of controversy among Christian beliefs because of conflicting revelation of historical facts of Bible. He brought topics like Paganism, Gnosticism, The Knights Templar, Symbolisms and the Holy Grail but also give us good knowledge about Leonardo Da Vinci. The main thesis is that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had a child, Sarah. Also that the blood line of Christ has survived until the present day. A secret society called the Priory of Sion has been protecting these descendants of Christ while dark forces in the Vatican called Opus Dei has been trying to murder them to protect the secret. The book is a page turning suspense thriller and has a lot of twists shocking you even the ending has double meanings and he made it as a mystery where the Holi Grail rests.  But Dan Brown made the reader thinks what if history is not what have been taught and what if Christianity is not what the church has proclaimed. All these made The Da Vinci Code one of the most memorable books I have ever read.
